39th and Haverford


This was painted/drawn for me by a five year old girl named Simone. She had a box of eight Crayola markers and some water paints to work with. She painted the green tree leaves, drew the brown trunk, and picked up her green, brown, orange, blue, yellow, black, red, and purple markers. She looked at me. She looked at the markers. She looked at me. She looked at the paint. She looked at her mother. She looked at me, and said "Um, which one of these colors are you? I've never drawn any one that looks like you before.". I suggested that she use whatever color she would like, that I had the same problem when I was five so I totally understand. When I came back from my meeting, she handed me the picture and said "you are the one on the left.
